John Holtmann golf event raises $5,000 for CFCC

Attendees of the 10th annual Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) John Holtmann Memorial Golf Tournament could not have asked for a better day to hit the links with industry colleagues and raise funds for a worthwhile cause. It was sunny and warm as 114 golfers gathered on June 12 at the spectacular and challenging Lionhead Golf Club in Brampton, Ontario.

CHFA staff packed snacks, beverages, and items donated by industry vendors into welcome bags and sent the golfers on their way. Participants were greeted on a number of tee boxes by vendor sponsors, who offered refreshments, snacks, and product samples.

In total, golfers, sponsors, and supporters raised $5,000 for Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC), an organization that helps combat food insecurity among Canadians. To date, the tournament has raised over $160K in donations for CFCC.

Sashane Biggs, CHFA’s manager of events and external operations, said response following the tournament was positive. “People commented that it was a great venue, a great purpose behind a fun event, and it was a nice break from the office. Overall, people were happy to connect with industry friends.”
